Moanin slackers. Put a 14 pound brisket on last night at 200 degrees. Bumped temp to 230 at 5 as it was stuck at 155 since 3. Wrapped about 7 and left temp alone. Bark was nice and it smelled so good while I was wrapping it. First full brisket and it’s for the family so fingers crossed it turns out edible.
Don’t fret…Lil’ Timmy Grizzy Pussy will shine up eventually after he checks through his Grindr and hog site matches, to throw in his smoking prowess.

I don't do whole briskets anymore. Too much fat on them. Instead we have them trimmed and halved when they cut our beefs up.
2.88 a pound during Labor Day so I was ok with buying it for my first full brisket. Still going to frustrate me and steer me away from brisket for a while.

Normally I do foil but my friend had paper so I tried that this go round. It’s in the cooler now wrapped in 2 towels. As I walked it to the cooler it sure seemed to jiggle like the others I’ve seen from other people.

As long as you trim that excess fat where it needs it, it’ll be fine. And butcher paper all the way.

Went to rural king for a few m5x20mm commie metric screws for my eager beaver, ended up costing me $177 for the three screws.

4 bags of goat feed, layer and ga!ebird feed, scratch grains, whole corn (for the deers), and a dog tug toy. I only went for the screws, wife needed the rest of it. Except the tug toy, that one is on me.

I read somewhere that there is a link between aluminum and Alzheimer's. Switching to parchment/butcher paper here. Don't need to have Alzheimer's. Lamb chops going on in a little while.
I got rid of any and all aluminum cookware in the kitchen years ago for that very reason

The only exception is some 3 ply cookware with stainless outer and inner that encases an aluminum core, but the food never touches the aluminum

Sadly there are still a few situations where I haven't figured out an alternative to foil but I have read several studies that the minute amounts on aluminum we ingest from foil are safely excreted through our elimination systems

I guess you pays your money and you takes your chances

Too close to salt water for me. I love olives, eat them often with cheese. Too bad it is breakfast time. Wait, olive omelette!
It’s great having the sea close by, but I like living on the mountain. We live about 40 minutes inland from where I took the photo.

Anti perspirant has aluminum

What ls that cliche about stump pulling torque?

Antacids have aluminum too, and so do most prepared or processed foods

I guess it comes down to which study are you going to believe and which "the sky is falling" scare of the month you buy into

If I can avoid cooking acidic foods directly in an aluminum pot or pan I will and if I can line a baking sheet with parchment I will, keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best

She has gone from 15 lbs when we got her to a bit over 27 lbs yesterday, just over 3 weeks

She is a good 3-4 inches taller as well

Going to be a monster

Slacker, I dont give two chits about any plastic saw ever made.
You should know that by now.
Orange ones are cheaper than orange and cream ones.
They all get a job done.
The yellow and black ones just did it first.
I'll never pay stupid money for a "posh" saw that doesnt get things done any better than the old one that was gifted to me or someone was going to throw away.
So much is wasted nowadays on the bestest and fastest.
If you make a living with it, you need dealer support.
If not, its just a hobby or necessity.
Id be willing to bet that a poor man could heat his house with a "junk" 1010 Mac for less than it would cost for a new Stihl MS170, and he would feel like he had something worth a chit.
Case in point. I fixed a Homie XL for a coworker a few months ago.
It sat out in the rain for years. I cleaned it up and put new lines and a carb kit in.
He said it outcut his Hoosky 435 or whatever he had.
Then I let him borrow my worst POS 1010A Mac.
He has since bought a "better" 1010A that I put together for him, and loves it.
Boat anchors are relative I guess.
But... the fastest ones is more funner.

I'd still like to have a Pro Mac 700 if I could find one cheep.

Lunchtime! Venison ring bologna, garden grown green beans and onion, and sliced potatoes. One of my fav’s and quick/easy to prepare. I just salt and pepper to taste after it’s served.View attachment 395116
I grew up on cheap packaged bologna and I still love it although a good quality bologna like that is always so much better, especially sliced and fried

I love a fried bologna sammich

You should have sent her then

You’d still be waiting on screws
