I like my deer.
They have been munching on the Ninebark we have in the yard along with some of my wife's flowers though.
Bow season opener is only about a month away.
I usually like them but they will be a PITA in my reforestation efforts. Have had to chicken wire around all the new hardwoods I planted. They love oak and maple. The stump sprouting is keeping them busy too

That's regen from a clear cut.
Only thing I did was hack out the pines that were mixed in. That area I have also probably taken the brush cutter to 40% of the oaks.
You got red and white pine there? I bet you had to keep wacking down oak stump spouts

I have a oak stump probably 10 inches next to driveway I cut 2 years ago, since then I’ve clipped it 7-8 times, lit a brush fire on top of it, and then the forest fire hit it, it’s still sprouting

I used a lot of poplar for framing lumber when I built my house. It usually dries straight and seems stout.

Fugh That !!!
Poplar down by you is entirely different than the Poplar/Cottonwood up here. Poplar up here rots fast and when cut from green, is ready to burn in a few weeks, but doesn’t burn well.
