Little basturds
I usually like them but they will be a PITA in my reforestation efforts. Have had to chicken wire around all the new hardwoods I planted. They love oak and maple. The stump sprouting is keeping them busy tooI like my deer.
They have been munching on the Ninebark we have in the yard along with some of my wife's flowers though.
Bow season opener is only about a month away.
Might give bow season a try this year. Going to restring my Martin and do some practicing before decide. Been a few years.I like my deer.

Seems you’re a fan of red oak
You got red and white pine there? I bet you had to keep wacking down oak stump spoutsThat's regen from a clear cut.
Only thing I did was hack out the pines that were mixed in. That area I have also probably taken the brush cutter to 40% of the oaks.
I have a oak stump probably 10 inches next to driveway I cut 2 years ago, since then I’ve clipped it 7-8 times, lit a brush fire on top of it, and then the forest fire hit it, it’s still sproutingYou got red and white pine there? I bet you had to keep wacking down oak stump spouts

Poplar down by you is entirely different than the Poplar/Cottonwood up here. Poplar up here rots fast and when cut from green, is ready to burn in a few weeks, but doesn’t burn well.I used a lot of poplar for framing lumber when I built my house. It usually dries straight and seems stout.
Fugh That !!!
Somewhere between 55 and 70. Haven't measured, but it is not 70. Wish it was 20. Lol20 kilogram pull on the Martin?
