We stopped having that problem since getting all our cars Ziebart rust proofed. They go back every year for their inspections and touch ups. Oldest is 11 years old now. Still looks new.
I certainly won't miss that sh!t for sure. Mixed with the salt is sand and stones. So you get stone chips and salt. We have that clear 3M stone guard on our hoods an leading parts of the fenders.
