My buddy that's into small Fords and I went wheeling up in Whitehall years back. He was really impressed with the way my lighter Cherokee with a little more wheelbase climbed hills. So he ended up getting one. Thing is, I couldn't help him get his head around the difference in the way a 4.0 jeep makes power compared to his Bronco II engine. He wanted to bounce off the rev limiter all day and that's just not how the straight six gets it done. So he swapped a 2.9 in it. Seemed like a step backwards to me and a *s-word-ton of extra work but he was really good at keeping his wheels spinning.
