They drive damn good, and stout shifting. Drove one for about two months, a little after I sold my '81 and '82. One of my older brothers had the '84 and it would get up and go and haul ass with that TPI.

On that same journey myself. Hovering about 225 right now, would like to get to 210-215 but that would take too much commitment to eating less crap and there is enough crap that I enjoy that I’m not allowed so…

I think you're a little mistaken Junebug. When the Vette's went from CFI in '82 to TPI in '84, it was day and night difference in what they would do. And back in those days to think the Vette's and IROC-Z's both with TPI wouldn't haul ass is ludicrous at best. There wasn't a domestic production made vehicle out there, Mustangs nor Grand Nationals, that could touch the Vette. The only Grand National that would get a Vette's ass was the last year production '87 GNX (3.8L turbocharged V6).

They (different individuals and/or couples) used to show up at my front porch many years ago and I think the word spread pretty quick through the congregation to just scratch my address off the 'homes to hit' list. The last couple didn't make it 2 min's and they were shown the end of the driveway, and ain't seen none come back in years.
