As a matter of fact it's a 4300 flat top. I tightened the latch as much as it allowed but still have the gap. I will keep your suggestion in mind. Upper right hand corner seems to be the worst spot...the gasket is much flatter in that area.

Do you have a quadra fire also?

I have a 4300 step top. I recognized the 5 level bar next to the Burn Rate Control lever.
The fireplace store that I purchased it from gave me the information, as it is what they do for a field service call.
