Firewood splitting day. My uncle got a splitter and came over with his three boys and we split up everything I cut with the 461 the other day. I don't know how much wood we ended up with but we filled my truck, his truck and have prolly a cord maybe a bit more stacked up.

Mornin' guys. Turkey on the smoker with some hickory, eggs on and already off and in an ice bath. I hope to get enough to peel clean to devil. Mixed up some marinade and venison to dry out on the smoker tomorrow. Got my second deer in three sits Thursday morning, that's my kind of hunting! The weather hasn't been good for hanging this week so I processed it yesterday afternoon after I stuck it to the man for a few hours of double time on top of the holiday pay. This one will mostly be ground, with some salami and jerky as well.

Fingers crossed that a little smoker work is all that ends up happening tomorrow, it's been a crazy busy couple of weeks.

Are you hunting with that 300 blackout? I got a doe yesterday morning with the ole Winchester Model 94 30-30. I haven’t felt like sitting long enough to see any antlers.

Ain’t nuthin’ better than a big ol’ hot bowl of purple hull peas, topped with homemade pear relish, and three of the ham hocks that were in the pot. And don’t forget the 4-5 slices of bread. Ain’t done nuthin’ but eat ever since I woke up at 0600…growing boy I guess.

If you were closer, you could helped me unload it. Doing some small concrete jobs so it was easier to buy ready mix than worry about a truck. 3200lbs and had t0 break it down since I didn't have enough weight on the back of tractor to lift it even with filled rears. Hooked to the goose neck cattle trailer now. May haul another 14,000lbs of momma cows tomorrow. Moving everything and sorting from parent's by end of year.
