Afternoon pud wreckers.

Had something cool happen today.
One area of the plant I'm working in uses a lot of spray coatings. One called tire dope, that keeps the bladder that forms the inside shape of the tire from sticking, and other is a mold release agent to keep the outside of the tire from sticking to the molds.
This stuff is a slippery, powdery substance. The boom lift I use to access the cranes has an electrostatic disharge strip that drags on the floor to keep static electricity from building up.
It doesnt work with that stuff on the floor, so I have to ease up to the crane and lightly tap it with the lift basket to disharge the static.

Well, today when I did it on the last crane I was inspecting, it drew a particularly long arc.

Good loud SNAP,and the headlamp I wear on my hard hat actually turned itself on.

Just glad I didnt forget and touch the crane bare handed. Probably woulda peed meself...:D

I just noticed the pull start handle is missing…maybe why it was only used once?
Well I emailed him again. He ended his response with "blessings". Today he asked if was going to be in the area to look at it. I assumed that maybe his price was better today. I was going through Appleton on my way home from Green Bay and decided to stop. Curiosity got the best of me. Lol
Long story short, when I got there he proceeded to tell me that it was considered new because it had less than 10 hours on it, not used just one time and it looked like it. It was in very nice shape but certainly not like new. Then he told me what his wife paid for it, $698 plus $189 for the case and another $350 in accessories. He asked me to make a fair offer, I did $400.00. He told me to get the f*ck out of his garage and when I told him to not talk to me like that he wanted to fight! What a d'bag!!

We have people moving here from northern states, and Cali in droves. They pay stupid money for houses. Place up the road just sold for 625,000.00
It's insane, I get it but insane. Now 3 years ago would of veen the time to move there.

Our trim waste system is pvc pipe and builds up a charge, it plugged and we sent this little dude up. It knocked him down and killed his phone. Static is no joke.

So.....1999 Ford Ranger 2.5

Bubba called a few nights ago. Poppa he said......Ranger died.

I said it's probably the timing belt. Sure enough. He got a tow home.

Today he fixed it.

I'm proud of that kid.

Hooray noninterference motors!

Not just any tyre factory.
This one makes one of the worlds largest high speed radial tires.
What you see below is a 63" RIM DIAMETER high speed radial tire for mining trucks.
They run these behemoths at 60 mph round the clock at gold mines.
Operators dont even stop the trucks to take breaks. They have a customized pickup truck with the roof removed that drives up alongside the boarding platform. Relief driver steps out and takes over the dump truck. Other driver comes down and hops over into the pickup. I'm assuming they would at least slow down a bit, but maybe not.
Some decent sized overhead cranes to handle the molds and the lids of the curing ovens. Like a big pressure cooker(autoclave).
187 ton crane for the big ones, and 150 ton cranes for the "smaller" tires. (47", 57").
