When I was working on a ranch in SD I went swimming with some friends and wore my cowboy boots and swim trunks
I didn’t own any crocks or tennis shoes
Boy did I get the grief from that

Notice the single exhaust pipe bolted to the head.
The exhaust "runners" are cast into the heads. Just a flange and pipe bolt to the head.
