Morning boys. Rains a coming! Desperately needed! Already had a small vegetation fire close by yesterday afternoon.

I was checking some of the reservoirs just north of you a couple weekends ago - There's some that need 25-30 inches more rain to be able to make it through the summer.

I think the fire scene in southern Oregon/northern California is going to be pretty ugly this summer.

Good Evening guys, today was the first day in a long time I had a meeting at 3pm in the office ( pub for a beer with a mate.)

at 2pm I see my bees decide to roost in a tree 20\25’ up.

3 times I went up there and shook them into a net/box etc.

When I returned at 7:30 pm I saw that one lot I put in a box decided to return and hang around in the tree :(
So up I went again.;)

Your bees have decided to swarm. It's a normal thing this time of year. You should have another hive ready to put them into if you catch them. You must have the queen with them or they will not stay in the hive. If you have no other hive, just leave them alone.

Neighbor behind me has 2 hives, one is requeening right now. These 2 hives are very mellow, they even tolerate kids and dogs.
We stole a 1/2 pint of really light colored honey last week. Natural sweet stuff that is actually good for you.
I just let my neighbor know that i have a honey extractor so i get a cut of the honey without the risk of being stung.
The extractor is one of the few things i have kept over the years that has become useful to have in later life.
Now i can say being a hoarder is a good thing.

Just got off the phone with the machine shop dude. He recommended doing the full meal deal to the 460. His reasoning.....the dished pistons and those D3 heads are gonna be far too low on compression. He recommended flat top pistons, bored .030, .020 off the heads, three angle valve job, new cam bearings and freeze plugs. He gets a better deal on parts than I do.....

So I'll be taking it to him in a few days.
better sell more beef or start renting pigs again lol

Well...I survived 12 hours of hell.

Brought my homie BUCK with us today, he competes in the Special Olympics so he's a little slow, but that M'fer can rake his ass off and loves to feed the chipper, his dad let's us dump on his property and it means the world to his parents we make him feel included.

It’s scary. I cut around 100 regen trees and thinned behind my house. One because it needed it. Second reason is fire.

Those are Redback boots slacker. They are actually really comfortable and light with all the walking at the apartment job I’m on. Plus since they are slip ons it help when I get stuck doing service where I have to take my boots off. So GFY

Where did you end up getting them? Did you convince the CDN place to ship?

I was trying to joke that i had more interest in the Hunter hoist than the brodonkulated (TM Ed King 2022) pickup. It fell short of the mark obviously.

I was with you. Didn't even see the red ponus until mentioned. The lift would be nice.

Evening slackers and boot critics. If you look ahead 9 hours, there is a weekend. Got to go look at another house tomorrow morning for my boy. Maybe this one will be the one he gets.

Just heard from his realtor, house just went under contract. So he won't be buying this one. At least it saved me a trip.

I’ve done that before  it didn’t end well.:risas3:

I have another 6 empty hives, but bees will be bees and mostly likely do what they want :sisi3:

I’m guessing they (the other hives) will have me chasing them again in the next few days. That’s bad beekeeping:eusa_whistle:
