Back when I was relatively new to the Lakota way of ceremony, I got bad sick from a tick bite. I tried to tough it out in the Inipi ceremonies, but I just couldn't take the heat.

My friend Dale suggested that I stay outside the sweat lodge, but still take part in the ceremony by taking care of the fire, bringing the stones in, opening the door flap, etc.

It was during that period of time that I started to really feel a part of the ceremony. I got far more from being of service to my relatives than I ever got by being inside the lodge.

Every ceremony, after I brought in the stones, water, etc, then closed the door, I sat down with my back against the sweat lodge. I could feel my friend Keith's back against mine as he sat inside. They sang inside, and I sang outside. I became the protector of the lodge, and those inside.

I took a picture of what I saw while sitting there......and my nephew painted it for me.

That makes sense, what was 60lbs?

Never mind, that was gut tension. Just reread it after understanding tennis. All makes sense now.
That’s right…ran 60lbs on the synthetic gut mains as well as the poly crosses. Should’ve dropped the crosses to 55/56 lbs allowing for more movement off the mains for more topspin but the combination hits fairly well. Poly strings inherently lose tension quicker than all other strings so they’ll loosen up some over the next few times hitting that particular racquet.

I commend your dedication to the art of stringing racquets. It’s been dam close to 30 years since I have done it. I do miss the days working away in the back of the shop racquets and bikes in the summer, skis in the winter. Those were easier days, lots of fun too

Miami Open men’s championship coming on now on the Tennis Channel…Carlos Alcaraz and Casper Ruud. Alcaraz is 18 yrs old and absolutely kick ass on a court. He’s like watching an 18 yr old Djokovic, Nadal, or Federer many yrs ago when they were that age.

Damn slackers
You guys must sleep in a lot or jacking more now
Slept in until 7am both yesterday and today. I stay up late too. All the way until 10pm. Got quite a bit done this weekend in spite of hoof trimming. Mowing, planting raspberries and trees. Did grapes last week. Weeded and mulched around the blueberries and strawberries. Dug some rocks out for the goats to climb on, (hopefully reducing hoof care). Cleaned out the building, 42x66. Changed oil in a couple engines, 3 more to do. Greased the rake and baler and checked oil in disc mower. Did some slacking too.

Motivated. All I achieved was expanding the duck pen and stick an apple tree and a few raspberry plants in the ground.

More than me both.
12 hrs and I remotely opened and closed two valves I think. Add in a couple of radio transmissions and she's a long boring night.

I cheat, I have a PT-425 that I can swap implements in seconds. I use an auger to drill holes to plant in, it carries things, it digs things. I can go from grapple to mini hoe in 30 seconds. Takes that long only because I have to shut it down and relax the hydraulics to swap the hoses. Non powered stuff takes 10 seconds without leaving the seat. Unfortunately it doesn't trim hooves.

Waiting for them to come in for round , er, whatever round it is!

Radio transmissions? Ham radio? Or work related?
