Spent a couple hours moving snow and creating runoff channels. Now going to spark some charcoal for burgers.

Got done with floaty things and finished the weed whacking.

Took just a minute to check out dads 024. Thought maybe a torn intake boot. The upper AV mount screw had vibrated out.
Nope. Boots fine. Then I pulled the muffler...
Damn DEEP gouges in the piston.
No putting it back together and act like I didnt see that.

Looks like your doing a rebuild for pops.

Cylinder might clean up, but piston is gouged pretty bad.
Cylinder was loose on base, and case gasket is leaking at bar oil tank, so I would assume that might be where the air leak was coming from.
Gonna put it in a box for now.
If the cylinder cleans up, it will get a piston, gasket, and seal set.

Rains stopped falling. In fact it's positively sunny here now. But there is a lot of water around still. The combination of a big tide and all the runoff has the launch ramp pontoons straining. You shouldn't get wet feet at all normally.

Could also go the cheap route and use old corrugated roof metal and some rusty nails....

In other news a good friend of ours from up there just left from a visit after being back up there several years.
