Deers been moving around more up there now that some cooler weather has set in?

From the new dead ones on the roads every day, I'd say yes.
The bucks should be searching now or soon around here.
Tonight will be my first sit with the bow for the year, so I guess I'll see firsthand if there's any around.

Morning everyone, just settling in to my first pot of coffee

Thanks for the birfday wishes

66 today

If you want to slaughter deer come on over

No season, no limit, aerial culling every month, etc

Can't put a dent into them

With everything they do the deer population grows 25% per year and the island just gets deader and deader looking

This is just over the east edge of our lot

We have hundreds and hundreds a day crossing our property

Goat meat is delicious. Lean and nutritious...
My grandparents used to cook goat a lot when I was a kid.
Pressure cooked, chopped, then put in the oven covered in foil to slow cook and get basted with butter/vinegar, pepper "mopping" sauce every half hour or so.
Used the same recipe for deer of course.

I’ll be on Maui if February hopefully. If you need anything. Let me know. I’d be happy to throw it in my checked luggage.

That's very kind of you

We will be going back to Alaska for the month of December to spend the holidays with our kids and grandkids

I suspect we will be hauling back 4 full suitcases of necessities

We have to go back to Alaska again in April for a couple months so my wife can get the first of 2 shoulder replacements and by then I might be ready to send a small container back to Hawaii with shop tools and stuffs that I have been missing

Little cool spell we had here in the last week (nights go into the mid-40's) had 'em moving a little more around here. Rut will be in here around the 12-15th of next month and they'll be trying to percker-ize anything that moves, and keep 'em moving.

Thank you Randy, that is very kind of you

My best to Miss Glenda as well

Glenda never did get good range of motion back after her knee replacement. But she can walk without pain for the most part now. I call that a win.

Timberman was the Homelite. 45 cc. Close enough to 46 cc to be the same performance I imagine stock. In fact, my first new saw was a 45cc timberman from home Depot. It seized on the first tank on Homelites included oil. Took it back and went and bought an MS231 I think it was. Bear was mcculloch I believe.
Yes sir, You are correct Steve. My bad on the nomenclature between the red and yellow saws LOL!!
I don't know how much compression those injection molded, sheet metal screwed saws could handle. Hell you may pull that starter right off the side of that thing. Dare I say, but they were a cheap, light, beater saw though, that when right ran well. Hell, you didn't have to worry about stripping out the exhaust mounting from the cyl's as that was good what they had there.
Anywho, For my nomenclature punishment if I ever run across a Timberman or the smaller 33cc Ranger I'll send it your way no charge LOL!!
Mini Mac 6 Vid next??

Donna is doing much better than I expected on her 2 new knees, a lot of it is the climate here and having access to a pool for her excercises and stuffs

She is much more scared of the shoulders being replaced and I don't know why

As it is I have to wash her hair most days and get stuff out of cabinets etc but the shoulders are freaking her out

Hellz yeah.
First saw my Dad ever put in my hands was one of his pair of 610's. I was around 11 I think.
Still have them sitting on a shelf.
How my scrawny little azz ever wielded one of those yellow bricks without tipping over should be on an episode of Unsolved Mysteries.

Happy Birthday @3browns.
Love to make a trip to your island when I retire someday. They look delicious. Definitely destructive browse killers in those numbers.

We have a spare room so when you retire shout out

Between the deer and the wild pigs and the Spanish goats stuff doesn’t stand a chance here

There have been so many introduced species of plants and animals here for one reason or another and almost every one is a failure and an environmental disaster

Just one quick example

They brought mongooses in decades ago to kill the rats that came off ships and devastated the bird population

Only rats are nocturnal and mongoose are daytime animals so they never even meet

So now the island is infested with mongoose that also eat bird eggs

Nobody thinks stuff through
