I kinda miss the days when a guy could spend less than $10k on a truck, and it would reliably do truck things for 10 years or so without needing a whole lot of love and fussing over.
Wasnt made for getting the kiddos from soccer practice, but it would do a lot of work to feed those little crotch goblins without spending a lot on it.
The Ford 300 inline six and chebby 290s never got the love they deserved.
Dodge slant sixes probably did a lot of the same, but they were gutless compared to what Ford and Chevy had.
I know, because dad had a 67 Dud with a 225 "leaning tower of power" when I was growing up.

The issue us Ford leaners have is that an LS is narrowish and fits most places, a Coyote not so much.
