Did somebody say rain?
We had 8" here in the last 3 days.
Thundering now.

On a sad note my 84 yr. old mom died sunday. Planning a funeral is not fun but friends and family came together and have it under control.
Covid is a concern with all the older people , how do you tell family not to be so close?
I guess i am going to try leading by example and wear a mask and ask people to stand a little farther apart.
My sincere condolences for your loss

Evening high rollers and ankle rollers alike.
Headin In.

Neighbours house report:
Trusses hiab'd on, inflammatory safety nets hung, and goddam bass heavy RnB music from scaffolders while I'm trying to day sleep finally gone.

Whats with the red color wood? A red variety or treated with something.
Denotes H1.2 treating StevO. We had a period where the timber industry convinced itself that untreated kiln dried timber would be fine as framing because, well it's inside isn't it. They were wrong, and a heap of houses suffered mold and rot issues during that Leaky Building period.

Interesting. Why the leaks? We build with kiln dried not treated. If everything is done correctly there shouldn't be any water intrusion into the home anywhere.
Exactly. But NZers went through a period of wanting to pretend they were from San Jose or Ibiza or something and instructed house designers to build them adobe style monoblock flat roofed internal guttered water traps.
You've seen how much it rains here, it was never going to end well, but the end result is all homeowners now pay more for timber.
