This is just a case of improper heat testing of the parts I believe. Bearing pins got out of shape, and it was all downhill from there. I still have the OEM crank. Gonna have it rebuilt with OEM parts and get another slug. See if it lasts this time.

I like OEM usually.

What was the temperature difference from town to Clingmans Dome Randy? Went up there years ago on the Harley. 90° in Gatlinburg, way colder at the lookout.

It was about 90 in Morganton. On top of Mt. Mitchell it was 67.
