Eventful night here. Del woke me at 0137 saying someone "was in the house"! I'm still processing as she tells me the 'was' is because she already showed the intruder, a little old lady, out the door.
There's a knock on the door again and it's the little old lady. She reeks. Asks to come in. No sorry, but I will walk you home if you tell me where to. (Our village is only 30 houses).
She's not having any of that and shuffles off, obviously disoriented. I got Del to 111 it and kept an eye on the lady. She took shelter under the tree in my front yard. Five O turn up pretty smartly and one seems to know the lady.
Eventually walk her off home, they weren't letting her in their squad car any more than I was letting her back in the house.
Cops come back soon enough and explain "dementia etc" and head off.
I can't sleep, and at 0426 the security light flashes and I look out the bedroom window only to see her being carried off the other lawn by her husband and adult son.
Rang in sick. Have a lock to destruction test I guess.
