I had a 91 samurai I built for a fraction of what it would have cost to build a similar Jeep wrangler at the time. Swapped in a 1.6 turbo diesel out of a VW golf, 6.5:1 t case gears, upgraded axels, driveshafts, old man emu lift, 33” thornbirds, etc. it was a pretty bad ass trail rig. Wish I never sold it. They have gotten popular/rare and I agree the price has gotten stoopid for them.

Swapped in a 1.6 turbo diesel out of a VW golf, 6.5:1 t case gears, upgraded axels, driveshafts, old man emu lift, 33” thornbirds, etc. it was a pretty bad ass trail rig. Wish I never sold it. They have gotten popular/rare and I agree the price has gotten stoopid for them.

I built 6 of the geos with my friends
They went batshit over them
At one time Scott had 18 of them.
Most under 500.00
Matt built a samurai
And ran it for 10/12 Year's
I never liked them too small and not comfortable on long drives.
But they ran them basically until their
Wives made them upgrade
Kid's and all no room.
The geo 16v motor was hard to find
They made a killing selling all the parts and runner's.

that’s why I eventually sold mine to my dad. He drove it back and forth to work for many years. Got good gas mileage too. Was perfect for his 30 mile round trip 6 days a week.
