Dinner tonight. Why you might ask…because Dallas called me a fat ass last week and it hurted my feeler. But I am on my second 40 oz glass of whole milk to wash it down with.

He has a Imelda Marcos volume of new work boots in my size
He won't part with.
Funny *s-wordt Dave you mention that…had to get my annual pair of steel toe boots today as a matter of fact. We get 3 hrs paid time off to go get ‘em. Gubment allowance for all flightline workers this year for annual steel toe or composite toe boots is $140.57. These Georgia Boots, like the ones I always get most of the time, were about $25 more than the allowance so you gotta pay any difference outta pocket.

I bought 12 pair of those leather skechers I posted a few weeks back
25.00 on sale with free ship instead of 70.00 normally
I've been to every store there is here
to find 12eee or 13eee
Nothing.
These will last many years and I still had to shoe stretch them.
My 50 year master mechanic cousin he works on all manner of ships and barge's and vehicles
has probably well over 200-400k who knows in new specialized mechanic's tools and equipment
We're talking commercial generators,water pumps,lifts,chain falls
Etc.
His entire basement probably 30x40
is 6ft or more tall with new tools
It's his obsession.
I needed a chain fall winch and saw 14 in a stack.
I tried to buy one
No deal I can borrow anything I want but he won't sell me anything.

I’m not particularly fond of this pair of Georgia Boots I got today because of the dark color, and these were the lightest color pair they had outta three pairs in 12M. All other pairs I’ve gotten in the past years are much lighter like the same exact pair to the right of these new ones. I like ‘em lighter in color but seems everything is darker now in this particular boot. They’re pretty damn comfortable on concrete all day so that’s why I stick with ‘em. And the ‘damn near for free don’t knock it’ theory kicks in as well.

Every makers different on boots
Wide is usually good I just stretch them some.
2 guy's cost the 30+ guy's the honor system of
Boot allowance at the local sanitation board.
In the past you could get boots as needed.
Well apparently in just a couple months
These two got several dozen pairs or more of the most expensive
redwing, Georgia and other premium boots
Now it's one pair twice a year
And they can only buy from one store and turn in receipts.

Make fun of me all you want but these are what I rock most of the time at work these days. Wore boots for years but with the nerve damage and fugged up knees and ankles, it's a no go. The lighter weight the better anymore but still need a little toe protection at times

We have to turn in receipts as well. We get a choice of three stores that the base deals with who have GSA contracts to supply steel/composite toe boots, shoes. Every manufacturer you can think of…Georgia Boot, Red Wing, Danner, Thorogood, Timberland, Carhart, etc, etc. I prefer the Georgia Boots and Thorogoods. I always have to pay a little outta pocket on top of the allowance but those two brands work well for me.

A ton of folks on the flightline have gravitated to the steel/composite toe shoes over boots over the years.
