Toyota have had a long Alpine relationship ay.
I still have a 7939 head unit stashed away, some folks paying crazy money for that classic stuff. Had it feeding three PPI art series amps at one point. Good times.
No amps in this cruiser.
MIL owned this unicorn till it dropped out a connecting rod going down the interstate with 90K on it. Well kept and bought new.
The replacement motor needs head guides. It's junk compared to most OEM motors. I been in it to do a botched oil pump install and a new timing belt. Leaking oil with 60k on this motor... real gem. Crooked seal, stripped drive gear stub, real hack job with an impact gun. Was handed a check for $250 for fixing it right with a new pump from the shop that messed it up. Oh boy... what a bone.

Looks like a kid spilled some soda in the back in my pic.

The car has no rot. Garage kept for fourteen years. I keep it coated in spray oil for rusty bolts. Supertec monkey piss keeps the decay at bay. It needs front struts, fresh brakes and new exhaust flex tube, leaker. They suck. I did just put in a new upper motor mount. Might consider doing a nice head and updating the motor to a counter shaft set up in this block. It has the bits in this block and was converted backwards to no counter shaft motor, stupid imo. The head don't change or the accessories on it.

The radio and speakers were done at a stereo shop on day one. I sent her there after turning down the job. I was busy. It's all done right and never had an issue in twenty years. I have a very nice amp and subs for it in boxes. More things to finish first and equipment repair never ends it seems.

Every lugnut was severely overtightened
No need for it ay.
When i ran a tyre shop we gunned off. Torq Stik gunned on and finished with a torque wrench, always on copper-koted studs. No dramas, no significant extra time, minimal comebacks. But i paid my staff well and engaged with them, so that might be something....

7939s were pre-amp only. No amps, no tunes.
But sharing the boot (trunk?) with twin tens and an amp wall gets old once strollers and whatnot come into the picture. Your whatnot may vary....

A boss that pays well and engages with employees. Unheard of. Good for you for actually caring about the finished product.

I agree most people will go way out of there way to do a good job for a boss that respects them.

Afternoon all.

Hopefully have enough groceries laid in for the MIL and Family to last a couple weeks. Line to get in to Costco was long but moved fairly quickly, will get longer tomorrow when their capacity gets dropped from 250 to 100 customers at a time. Very glad I have a second fridge running in the garage this spring.

I was good at it John. After the banking and stock ordering was done I worked alongside the lads for the rest of the day.
There's no barriers to entry in tyres in NZ tho. Buy some stock with cash, sell it cheap, repeat.
If I'm going to work that hard all day I want some financial return for being better than the next guy. Customers just want cheap round black squirrel squashers.

Alot of folks want something for nothing and don’t value others work or time.

Just got word one of my best friends wife passed away this morning from brain cancer. She had been struggling with it for a few years. They removed one of her eyes. They have 4 kids. Just awful:(
