I’d like to know what model Mac my grandpa had when I was a kid. I just remember him saying it was made by dick and blacker! His words to a 9 year old:meparto:
Black and Decker bought them sometime in the 70s, probably right after Robert Mcculloch died.
Still made good product until the late 90s.

It’s not that they had lots of torque, they just didn’t have much hp. So all you felt was torque. That’s what Joe’s dyno says anyway
Gotta be right there. They arent the fastest, but they dont bog down in the cut. Whether you dog in, or just let it eat, it goes the same speed. Actually cuts about as fast, if the newer saw is bogging and losing rpm.

Weak spot on a 10 series Mac is tue wrist pin bearings. They put them in the piston instead of the rod. If they go, they "needle" the cylinder. Almost always a total loss of piston and cylinder. Good bearings, just not sure what kinda Revs they can handle.
Ah that’s what it is.....
