New 461 value

I was checking out FB marketplace this morning and there is an unused 461 with 24” bare for $1300. As a fan of the 461, is it worth it?

Guess it's up to you. Compare it to the current price of a 462 since the 461 isn't available anymore. And see if it's worth it to you.

Saw prices either new or used have gone crazy the last few years.

I would run a 461 all day long if I don't mind the extra weight. I like the 461's power band more than the 462.

The prices have gone stupid overboard on must saws I don't car what size or brand if it's got a tank of fuel ran through it then it's a used saw ........ If I were spending that kind of money on a saw I'd go to a dealer and buy a new one.

Just picked this up. Only been test fired by the dealer. Came with a 20” bar chain and scabbard. Already boxed and labeled to ship in the morning

That's a nice one. I've been looking for one, but gave up and bought a 462. I bought a new 462 for the same price as some used 461s.. Sad. I see them on eBay once in a while, but I'm not paying collector prices.

This one was local to me and I knew and a friend wanted it. Was sold to a tree guy who ended up buying 500i’s when they became available.
