1:16 twist with 62-72gr bullets??? Sounds a bit under-stabilized, even for lighter bullets.

6.5 credmore would be a good one or 7 mm 08300 Blackout is a good choice for a conversion since they are the same length as .223 and can even use the same mags. I have a Sig in 300 and it's really fun to shoot and much more accurate than .223 for sub 200, but who shoots over 200 often?
If I was going to get another one I'd probably get a long receiver in 308, but they are much more expensive.
The more i read on the credmore the more i like it.flat shootin has ass engery and speed damn near 7 mm bullet
I'm probably the only crazy one to shoot 223 to 600. Need to get it ready to try 800.300 Blackout is a good choice for a conversion since they are the same length as .223 and can even use the same mags. I shoot NRA Midrange(600 yd) High Power rifle competition as well as Long Range (1,000 yd) with 223 AR15, it is capable as well as competitive. same amount of wind drift as a 168 gr 308 Win.I'm probably the only crazy one to shoot 223 to 600. Need to get it ready to try 800.
the bullet of choice for 223 at 600 and beyond is an 80gr SMK, if you reload....I've not shot a 223 past 600. Next time I go I'll try it. I've got 69 grain SMK loaded.
Yep. I can mag length load these 69. 75 grain Hornady fits as well. I can shoot 850 easily. Im looking for a place to go 11-1200the bullet of choice for 223 at 600 and beyond is an 80gr SMK, if you reload....
of course these can't be loaded to mag length, you have to single feed these into the rifle
don't forget 77r SMKYep. I can mag length load these 69. 75 grain Hornady fits as well. I can shoot 850 easily. Im looking for a place to go 11-1200
I have SWFA and vortex razor. 135 MOA and 35 mildon't forget 77r SMK
if you're ever going through Missouri, Sierra is in Sedalia....they sell blems by the pound for a significant savings. it's awesome to see 55gal drums full of bullets ! By blem it's only cosmetic, they didn't shine up as pretty. I love leaving there with 25 lbs of bullets !!!!!!
assuming you are shooting with scope, you may run out of elevation before hitting at 1,000.....most scopes do, requires a scope base with elevation built into it (preferable 20 moa)
Buck wind at longer distances better. My next bolt gun is going to be a 6.5 Creedmoor, probably a Remington 700 or Weatherby Vanguard. Will it necessarily do anything better than my heavy barrel .257 Roberts? Probably not, but still a very cool cartridge.
