Thanks for the info CFB. I have to admit I was a bit confused when it was marked Stihl and didn't have mahle or ks on it anywhere.
It is a hemi chamber jug.

As stated, Stihl used various cylinders on their saws. You can use a 046 or 460 jug on any 046 or 460 saw, they are interchangeable.

Port timing and squish were all over the place with both 046 and 460 jugs, so it is always a good idea to check the #s when doing a build.

On 044s, IMO, some of the best cylinders were KS. Note: All 044 and 440s have D combustion chambers.

As mentioned, only early 046s had D combustion chambers, and the early 046 (true) Magnums (that came from the factory with dual port mufflers) were said to be among the strongest 046/460s from the factory. They also had "richer" carbs with an .070 jet.

Note: The EPA soon banned the dual port mufflers, but Stihl noticed that the "Magnum" designation sold saws, so they started using it on MS460s that did not have any performance advantage. I don't think Stihl gave the original 046 Magnums a higher HP # in their literature, but the early 066 Magnums (which also had a DP muffler) were rated 1/2 Hp higher than the ordinary 066s.

Higher, actually. My ‘92 RE 066 stats…from Stihl’s literature at the time, are 7.8hp. The same stat sheet shows 7.0 hp for single port muffler 066s.
