Do the ms400's respond well to ignition timing advance like the 462's do? My 462 certainly woke up a bit with a muffler mod and about 8 degrees of advance.
I just picked up a clean used 400. I opened up the muffler outlet already, just wondering if I should bump the ignition a few degrees or not, haven't really heard of anyone bumping the timing on these.
Update: I went ahead and filed the key a bit, ended up at roughly 4° advance. The saw seems to like it. Gonna leave it there and call it good.
