Ms 250 assembly question

Put new crank seals on the ms 250 and wondering if i should put some gasket maker where the seals sit. I figure it wont hert to?

Dirko is what the factory uses. Motoseal. On the outside corners where the crankcase halves meet at the seal is where it will leak 9/10 times. Loctite 515 or 518 will work also

I wouldn't trust 518 for this application.

I wouldn't trust 518 for this application.

Used it many times, 0 issues. Use the activator/primer if using the 518. Thats all I use on clamshells

I used motoseal. Let it set.for a couple hoirs then pressure vac tested and all good now. Never looked like any sealent on seals from before

I wouldnt think u would need any on the seals but thoso 4 corners where the halves meet the seals is where I put extra

Permatex ultra black is what I use on clams.

permatex motoseal is what i would use.
versachem no# 1 or 2 will work also.

Also so i know for next time how do you guys get the seal over a groove on crank shaft. I was carfull but afraid of wrecking the seal.

coat the outside of the seal with sealant and go around the entire mating surface of the cylinder and the bottom of the clamshell half with sealant.

If I have one that the spring keep coming out I put moto seal on the lip that holds the spring,let it set a while put some oil on the crank and carefully twist it into place
