How long do these stay once they sprout?
Morels or Ramps?
Morels are temperature temperament and they are very persnickety finicky bassturds, may come up one day and dead and dried out the next day, on the other hand I have seen the same morel grow for at least 6 days before.
Ramps usually last about a month to a month and half around here.

I took a walk through the woods yesterday and came up empty handed. We've been having some pretty chilly night though. Maybe next weekend will be more productive.

Great thread, Greenthorn. Where is Arrowhead these days? I liked his posts as well. Do you know any Kissel's in Princeton? I lived with Dennis, Mark, Joe, Jeff and Terry in college.

Over night temps have been climbing into the 40's and 50's here, with a nice rain storm today. As long as the temps stay good, it should be a good next couple weeks for shrooms. Fingers crossed.

Your wasting your time John. Start looking about the 20th of April.

Usually Mother's Day is when they are out around here. Found a decent bag of em last year and more ramps than 50 people could eat
