It's the same age as me... and I was born in 1980! I hate coming out of the woods with only a partial load.

Nice! I'm an '81 model myself. I'd like to build an 85-86 1-ton single wheel 4x4LB with a 4BT and 6spd stick. Maybe put a Gear vendors behind it for better mileage and gearing options. I'd set it up w/35" tires on a 4" suspension lift. That would make for a hell of a bogging/pasture truck when cutting wood.
