On my old cycle forums most were self moderated but moderators would pick up on helping when admin wasn't available.sometimes a free for all would break out but would usually fizzle out before things got out of hand.sometimes mods would step in and break it up because we were all friends.
Then again mods would be in the back ground running security guarding from deadbeats.i was a mod on one forum and i caught a guy buying parts from one vendor and hiking up the prices and selling the same parts to the guys.
