Randy..I dont know if this is a question that can be answered simply or not but is there a benefit by doing the hybrid rather than working over a 7910 ?

I believe it is the slightly longer crank keeps port numbers closer when the chamber is cut and less chance of free port.

David nailed it. Stroker motors rule. :)

The first one I bought I gave 375.00 for. At that time no one was interested in them. The last one I bought I gave 675.00 for. Add a 150.00 for a top end, 300.00 or so for the labor......1000.00 is cheap.

I will have Randy.

Can't afford to on these. :(
We'll talk about one at the GTG......if you still have one for sell

Dayum! How would that compare to you and Terry's 390xp and 395xps? Obviously different class saws with the 665/7910 being lighter and more maneuverable, but I'm curious about chain speed and torque.

My first thought when I watched this vid was man that saw is just as fast is the 660 vid he posted the other day. Gotta love stroker motors

Randy, how much better is the AV system on the Solo compared to a 460 or 660?

Light years ahead.

It won't keep up with my 395s. But is right with the 390s.

I just timed that 461 that was just as fast as the solo in this 28 inch square wood....I would not bet against either of my masterminded 395s vs my solo in this size and type of wood or the masterminded 390 I had either. The solo is lighter(great power to weight ratio saw) and may be faster in small wood with same pin rims on each but as the wood gets big the larger saws pull ahead. From what I timed the 660 beat the solo in this piece of wood

How does the solo do oiling that 28 inch bar? Watched the video several times it sure is an impressive runner! Great job Mastermind!

They are the same chassis. If there is a weight difference, it's not much.
I wasn't answering a question I understood as a question to this specific build. It was generalized for all hybrid builds. Most of which don't have the stroke difference upgrade option and are just a power to weight thing.
