Guys, I could use your help. I have a couple builds on the docket and am contemplating piston swaps to improve on geometry among other things.

As such, I am looking for detailed piston measurements on a few models listed below. Pin Diameter must be 12mm, which I think all the pistons I listed meet this criteria. If you can help, I would be thankful.

Measurements requested:

*Top of pin to top of piston
*Bottom of skirt to top of piston
*Skirt width at narrowest point
*Distance between wristpin bosses (where the rod and bearing fit).

50mm pistons of interest:

Husqvarna 266 full circle (windowed)
Husqvarna 268 slab sided
Husqvarna 372 full circle (solid)
Jonsered 70E full circle
Stihl 440 12MM
Dolmar 7300

52mm pistons of interest:
Husqvarna 272XP
Echo 800/8000
Dolmar 7900
Husqvarna 181/281

Will 7910 measurement work. I have a brand new P and C for a 6400 up grade sitting on the bench.

Yeah, 7910 should be a slab sided version.

Thanks for the help!

Now I'll have to order a digital caliper. My analog seems a bit archaic.

A spread sheet of several brands and models would be an interesting cumulative thread project. The thing is, I throw away all the worn out pistons and have very few new ones in inventory.

Seems like distance from center line of pin to top of outer edge might also be valuable for some guys.

That measurement is compression height, and is calculated by dividing pin diameter by 2, then adding to the measurement of top of pin to top of piston.

Could have a lot to do with the brand. Its a farmertec. Couldn't pass up the deal at 16.99 shipped for a whole top end. Lol. Maybe I'll regret it later as its the first aftermarket top I've ever had.
