RollTide, can you post a pic of the metal tag in the carb box of the PM850? I don't recall an 850 having a black tank out of the factory.

The model number should start with 600439 for an 850.

BTW, I'd put a healthy stock PM850 up against an 044/440 any day.
I did a google search and found a couple 850's with black tops but most were yellow.

I need to find one with that housing, I have the gear box with the remote oiler button but not the matching saw.

Can you get some additional photos of the oiler mechanism and the button & housing?

I have a 35 sitting at home. Locked up but if someone needs parts I'll get a picture soon for whoever.

Thanks for the photos Tide.

The gearbox that I bought recently has a different set up, a flexible shaft with a bracket and knob on the operator end to attach in near the saw handle but I can't quite figure out where to attach it. Obviously this was some kind of retrofit to the original oiler with the button on the oil tank.

Your photo got me to thinking so I checked out some of the saws I have and found this 39 up on a shelf awaiting its turn for restoration.

I have a pretty good supply of the 35 family saws and parts so if someone else has a need, please send it along to a more needy subject.

My other 35 has the oiler button mounted on the tank like you discribed. Seems like it would be very difficult to run like that.
