Thank you for the reply, The original check valve 86402 (duck bill) was completely gone so I haven't the foggiest what it looked like.
Can't find any reference to the 86402 outside of Leons McCulloch literature IPL. This is for the oil cap so I am pretty sure the ones referenced for Poulan are much too tall.
Thanks for the info, my oil caps have a removable plate in the bottom and accommodations for a duckbill under it. This is a screenshot of my IPL for 10-10 and 10-10A saws.
Good evening everyone, I have three mac 10-10 auto cylinder oil tank units and they all have air leaks where clamshell halves join. Moto seal won't hold pressure, seems they all have imperfections in the mating surfaces. Has anyone tried to make some sort of super thin gasket to address this most annoying issue, getting tired of tearing them down.
I was thinkiong of perhaps a beverage can or foil tape to try and fill the voids. What do ya think? Thanks
Flatten both surfaces on sheet of emery cloth on a nice flat surface (granite plate, glass, marble tile, table saw cast iron top, etc.). You cannot use even a thin gasket and expect the bearings and crankshaft seals to clamp properly and form a good seal.
Try posting in the McCulloch Chainsaw thread for better response.
