Just got my Remington Mall GP 16" saw running today. I stopped using this saw in 1978 when the roller tip gave out and it has been sitting in my garage for 45 years or so. Over the years the coil deteriorated to the point of being useless. Thanks to the post by 67L36Driver, I was able to obtain, modify and install a new Homelite coil in place of the original. I modified the bar to accept a generic roller tip and also found a new clutch bearing/sprocket which I installed along with a carb kit.
I hope some of you find this post interesting. I can provide more details if you wish and might be persuaded to negotiate a sale to a serious collector.
