I would share more if I had more time.

For instance.....this cool old beast was worthy of a thread.

We appreciate you doing what you do !
Any handy tips you could give to the modern housewife that owns a 9010 is, as always, greatly appreciated !

Got one on the bench right now....It's causing me a serious dilemma. The wife agreed to buy it and resell it. Problem is, she said "don't get attached"...too late! I love it and I want keep this thing sooooooooo bad.

Basically this is an old stock Makita 9010 from 2000. It was sitting at a tool store who sells Makita and has had the thing in the store unsold for years.

Anyway, given that its new, but unknown condition, I tore it down to have a look. It appears to only have been test run and never seen wood. Mahle cylinder, Mahle piston, and Tillotson carb (made in Ireland). And, best of all, a Sachs sparkplug boot--that ought to fetch a few extra shekels. Lol.

Taking offers in case anyone is interested in one of these. I'm making pics and will probably post up a sale ad in the next day or so.

Cheers,
Dan

I've done a few of these in both Dolmar, and Solo models. Looking forward to seeing just how much I can get out of this one. Tony is all about building for big wood, long bar, super grunt type stuff. That's my sort of build too......

I'e got a few new ideas in mind......
Any new stuff added to this one?

Never got to it. May never get to it. My own saws are last on a long list of stuff I need to get done. :(

You should to start a reality show. You know, you could call it "the Chainsaw Apprentice'! Winner gets a job and learns chainsaw modding. :D

'Tennessee Port Wright'

'Jamestown Chain Smith'

You know! Something catchy, something with a little jingle to it.

Half of OPE will have applied by the end of the week. You don't even have to tell them they will get porting lessons one hour per day, and the other seven will be shoveling cow poop and what not.

That is still a damn good deal with all the learning you could do there in your off time. Broncos riding, The Wells Hotel, Fishin down back, pig hunts, outdoor movies featuring Deliverance on the big barn at Johnnys House of HEY ... The list goes on and on :borra2::D
