It'll pull an 8 pin 3/8 nice but not in .404. If you ever go that route I'd stay 7 pin. Even my SDC carbed 101B does not like an 8 pin .404.
Put that 10 pin 3/8 on and it has no problem pulling 36". Opened up the exhaust a bit. Runs good.
Don you know of any GTGs in southern Oregon?

Thanks Lee. They are good sounding too eh Don... Guy over on AS selling another 797. He sent me a few pics and videos. Not sure if I'm up to another project. 650 was his asking price. Flatback with working primer, new carb kit.

Sounds pretty good Darin.
Thanks Lee. You are the king of building these monster Macs. I bought my first 797 and in doing research on them I found many of your saws online in pics and forums. They are the most addictive saw there is to build. They are in a class of their own. Unmatched power and brute strength. Thanks for sharing all your pics and keeping these saws alive. They are the best saws ever, bar none

I know this has been asked many times I'm sure but how do the 797 stack up against a 125

I've never run a 125 but have read some about the differences. In cave man slang, the 797 has grunt and the 125 more speed. Perhaps these other fellas can shed some light on the more technical details. Once you've run one and tuned em in about a cord of wood, they are a very addicting saw. My 075 and 2101 are back burner saws since I got my 797s. Not taking anything away from them, but there ain't no comparison.

I still have 3 or 4 more carcasses here I need to restore. Just not enough
time to get all these saws running. Parts for the 797's are getting very
hard to find these days.
