Oregon just called me. They said they had a problem in Europe with these bars delaminating, but they thought that they had it fixed and mine is the first American or North American case they've seen. They are providing a shipping label and when they get it back, they are shipping a replacement bar, my choice and I choose another one of these.

I can't ask for a better resolution than this.

at least they are taking care of you and I like the idea that they want the bar back....hopefully they will take it and figure out what went wrong so they can improve them because although i am a little scared of these bars i also love them for the price/weight

The replacement bar just delaminated on me. Not happy. I’ll contact Oregon.

That stinks I hope they get it sorted out. I like the price for the weight. But if they can't hold up then they are not worth any money saved.

I’ve got two in a row and I am not that hard on my stuff, I don’t think two in a row is a coincidence.

Coincidence that you’re the only one on the forum that’s had this issue though?
Correct me if I’m wrong.

I know several tree service guys that have had no issues with them.
I have 2 of them myself, but I’ve yet to put more than a few tanks on one of them.

I have a 16" .325 and a 20" 3/8 that have held up so far. But I don't get to cut much anymore.

I don't know the statistics on who has these bars on this forum. I'm sure there's folks that haven't had this issue, but I don't believe in coincidences like this. I'm not trashing other bars and I'm just a simple homeowner with a few acres, it's not like I'm logging or anything. Yesterday I had to grab my 421 to finish up work that my 6400 couldn't handle (was low on daylight and had to finish up a downed tree). I'm also not trashing bars on the 421 :D

I couldn't figure out why my cuts were curving over sideways until the chain started smoking and then I saw that another bar had delaminated on me.

Yup, I checked yesterday, but I slapped my old Makita branded bar on there last night and will check again yesterday.
