I love bank jobs because i always make bank the lawn boy sure as hell didn't like it,
I had the mower set at 3 inches burning 90 octane ethanol free mixed at 32:1 with johnson/evinrude outboard oil,,,, I just overhauled this one a few months ago.

That's a bad ass push mower.

thats what we call and old stump jumper

Can I ask why you say they need outboard oil? Because they run lower rpm? I have two I'm working on and was going to run power lend at 40:1. I guess I may reconsider.
lawn boy specs a quality ashless oil with that is NMAA certified rated at tcw3 mixed at 32:1 with regular grade gasoline, low ash oils like echo or Husqvarna will leave nasty deposits because of the ash content
this engine runs anywhere from 3200-3300 rpms under a constant load just like outboards.

if you ever run a 2 stroke mower you will dispose of your 4 stroke.

I was given a lawnboy mower by my parents when I bought my house. It served me well, but I was given a toro personal pace by my neighbor as he had cancer and I was to take care of his lawn as well. I gave the lawnboy to a friend who had cancer as they were doing a fundraising garage sale for him. It sold very fast for good money too.

Can't wait for the grass to green up and get my old D series out for a run . I'm going to check that seals if it still seems hard to start , it took several primes if it had been sitting a week between cuts .
It was a NOS engine I got last year and is an early 70's D500 so it might be possible a seal has dried ??
I'm also going to start using an outboard oil in it at 32:1 .
