Have any of you ever received a OE cylinder that came with circlips, wrist pin bearing and decompression plug but no piston or rings?
Where did you order/buy it from? If it was off the web, did the site mention what all came with it?Have any of you ever received a OE cylinder that came with circlips, wrist pin bearing and decompression plug but no piston or rings?
Baileys online. The 250$ kit. I know it's chrome but don't run my saws as a logger. I port them and cut firewood so chrome should last a good while for me. But in the description it states piston and rings.Where did you order/buy it from? If it was off the web, did the site mention what all came with it?
No, somebody probably took the piston & rings and returned it…or something like that.Have any of you ever received a OE cylinder that came with circlips, wrist pin bearing and decompression plug but no piston or rings?
It doesn't matter that it is chrome or not, its is what you wanted and ordered. I think this is the link:Baileys online. The 250$ kit. I know it's chrome but don't run my saws as a logger. I agree, it was probably a return that was put back on the shelf without verifying that all was there. Less of a chance, but it could have come from the factory like that if the box was all sealed. No, somebody probably took the piston & rings and returned it…or something like that.
I agree here too, get with Bailey's and let them know the situation. I had to do this once with Duke's, I got a new clutch cover and it was missing the chain-brake spring. I figured that it might have been a return and someone swiped the spring (odd thing was there weren't any tool marks on the screws or clutch cover). They let me know that it wasn't a return and came from the factory that way (one-in-a-million) and were willing to bend over backwards to make it right. Hopefully Bailey's will come through for you, I have gotten stuff from in the past without any issues. This might be your one-in-a-million and time to go buy a lottery ticket!!Time to contact Bailey's
Why? I'm just curious. Does it chip less or is it because the process has been around longer?I'd rather have Chrome cylinders...
I've sent an email but no response yet. I'm not in a rush or anything like that. Just kinda frustrated the way it all worked out. Luckily I had a brand new Meteor with some iron rings. But I'd rather it the saw remain all OEM.Call them and I bet a dollar to a donut they make it right in short order.
Just preference. Dollars to dimes, I think most everything is Nikasil nowadays... I should look up who makes what cylinders with chrome bores. Why? I'm just curious. Does it chip less or is it because the process has been around longer?
No. If you ordered it as a kit it should have came with piston also. You can order OEM pistons and cylinders separate but clearly you ordered the kit you need to call them. I live a hour and half from them so if something like this happen to me I would just drive down to there shop and chew there asses they know better than to make that kind of mustache they charged you for the complete kit they should have sent you the complete kit.....
Not always.
Nope just a good old wooden paddle works.
skinning cats with belt Sanders? But I prefer a surface grinder followed by a 10 bench grinder course wire wheel.... Side note wooden paddle!!!! Ive had plenty of those broken on me. Kids these days won't know what its like to come home from school just to see your still active duty baby boomer father standing in the door way with every single wooden spoon and paddle he could find in the house. I'm talking *f-wording rambo belt across the chess and *f-wording holsters everywhere!!! Duel wielding paddles with a armpit spin reload like they were shotguns....... (It was at that moment he realized he *f-worded up!!!!)Nope just a good old wooden paddle works.
