Not a saw I build often. Due to the piston weight. But I decided to do one for a local customer.

A few in process photos. I actually did not cut any off the base of this saw. With out a gasket it was sitting at .015.. all I did machine wise was take .006 out of the band.

If you notice I open up the transfers a good bit on these.. I also remove the devider out of the cover. These are some photos of it a little more towards the end. Exhaust is polished and ports are beveled.

I will include some photos of the muffler and a video of this one in wood later this weekend.. stay tuned .. btw final port timing is 99 117 77 I did have to remove a little off the bottom of the intake to get the 77 it was sitting around 75.. I typically do not touch intakes on strato saws. I could of avoided doing so with a little more machine work. But I do not want this one to be real high on compression with the bearing issues.

Did you widen the intake? I think on the one I did could only barely be widened at the floor because it would get into the piston cutout.

Paint is dry on the muffler.. this one got a nice healthy top port. Brazed on deflector stamped by Joe. When putting that much heat around plastics always protect them. It never hurts to add some muffler tape

Sounds good. When done right an XT will hang right with the famed OE 372/2171.
Thanks its definitely a runner. I still think I get more out of the non xt. But I have not done a ton of xt saws and done tons of xp....This one is definitely close. I dig it and definitely will be doing more now.
