What do you guys think this saw is worth? They claim this saw "runs good". I'm guessing they used it for ice fishing (Sturgeon spearing).

Thanks

I would want to know condition of p/c, compression and remove covers to look at rust. Bet they are asking $6-800?

Above $600 you could find a more modern saw in good shape with more available parts. If you want to sell the bar it will be a lot in shipping so your market is small.

This is just a guess , but grease holds up better versus water when cutting through 2ft of ice and I'm sure spraying bar oil in the water in frown on.

So if I'm hearing you right, one should use whale or baby seal blubber instead of dino bone to be eco friendly?

I’d pass… I had one. Parts nla. Money pit. Hell someone on here’s got a 395 brand new for $900. I’d buy that in a heartbeat if I didn’t already have one

You are spot on! My local dealer sells out of 395's this time of year because of people buying saws for Sturgeon spearing...even sells the grease kit for them.

It's value is what someone is willing to pay for it. What the seller and buyer agree on. You want the
true value put it on ebay. Then you have to pay fees and warranty it.

I'm interested if the price is right.

Recently fixed one for a friend (bad coil).
Husky 55 coil on it for now.
A real beast but like said pain in the parts.
His still needs chain brake but he was happy to get his big wood cut before cold weather.
He traded a truck with blown engine for his.

As the seller you will also be held accountable for your income as well. Anything over $600 for the YEAR paid to you as goods and services through each of the third party processors (paypal, venmo, cash app, etc.) and you a get 1099k. You will be held accountable for the Gross dollar amount as taxable income.

For example, say the saw sells for $650 plus $45 for shipping you will receive a 1099k for $695. You will have to keep a record of the expenses you incurred. Your net proceeds from ebay will be around $604.65. It usually runs around 13%ish for the ad, final value fee and paypals cut.

This is how I understand it based on the research I have done. If I'm mistaken please, please correct me. If all of this is correct, everyone that occasionally sells on ebay, and is unaware of the new tax law could be in for a big surprise come next January. That being said if someone has accurate and detailed info on the subject maybe we could make it a sticky so it doesn't get lost in a thread. Thanks Rich

I think that is right on the money. Tax inflation in action.

Great idea to make a sticky. Or at least put info in the Ebay/Craiglist and classified threads. Seller beware.

I have two of these saws and love them. That looks like a runner to me.

My opinion is $450 PHO.
$600 is a pretty clean saw with no corrosion and pretty plastics.
$800-$1000 for like new or ported by a pro.

But everyone is different on how they view their stuff. Cylinders aren’t too expensive, but trying to spruce up a scratched up machine sure is.

Look really well at the rear handle, they seem to crack/break/corrode.
