Holy Crap
That does sound crazy I know but just so I'm clear, it hasn't only needed a worm gear since then. That's just what's left after the rebuild.
My brother has had a tree company since the late 80's and neither of us knew how to work on saws. We thought it was normal to have to buy new ones when they stopped working so the grave yard got huge.

I sell the stuff till I get down to keep for my own saw numbers. Matter fact got to reminder to get a guy a NOS recoils shell out.

I had a guy contact me from KY about his 445 needing parts and I pulled them from a 475 I had and got him going again ( recoil and clutch cover etc.). Had another guy in BC needing a crank and a 54mm cylinder so I pulled them from runners I had.
I have a bunch of parts but when I get down to limited numbers I stop selling while still running the series.
