I have just acquired a Jonesred 2051 Turbo saw and was wondering what size bar should be used and what is your thoughts on the saw?

I have never run one but I believe it is a high revving pro saw. Watched for one to try for a long time but like 60cc for the stuff I do.

I like a 18” bar on saws that size but others around here would know the balance on that saw better.

I acquired one of those free a while back. Fixed a couple of things and fought with pesky air leaks for a while. Pretty snotty stock, but I ported mine conservatively, and it will turn 16 grand. Thought it might be able to handle a 24, but I changed my mind and it still has the 20 it came with. Nifty little saw.

Thank you for the information. I was thinking a 20” bar as well. I’m trying to figure out which saw in the Husqvarna line is a match so I can cross reference parts in needed?

Believe that is a 50cc saw and I would run an 18 on it. It also depends on type of wood and chain you are using.

Thank you for your information. I’m just trying to figure out the Husqvarna saw it shares parts with in case I need some replacements?

I’m into Oak, Doug Fur, sugar pine etc. I think it’s a small pin mount for a bar correct?

18" .325 is what my husky 51s and 55s like. If closer I'd let you try my bar/chain.

Believe you will find there is no direct comparison.

I mainly cut red oak and 18 works very well on my mk2 550. I touch up my chains and keep my bar dressed, have seen many running a mess lately.

Correct, there's a 2051, 2054 and 2055 in this 'family' and that's it. Unique little saws and quite good runners.

2051 is the "hotrod" of the bunch. .325 in 18 is good. 2054 had 2 versions. Epa and reg..epa has a decomp is more cc but less of a saw than the non decomp a 2051 or a 2055.
Great av basically a baby 2095. Case issues early. Flip the louvers to keep heat off front of case or add another outlet so heat goes away from case

20" .325 bar in CA isn't a huge deal, keep a sharp chain and don't dawg it like it's 90cc's. I mostly prefer the 20 for reach when I'm limbing, fyi.
