Does it matter if you hit the tie straps Mike? The silvey hits them on 3/8"

Has to pass the eye test. If it looks scary, it probably is. Minor biff, meh? I should say that I have only ever ground 3/8 (personally)

Dan, I always "touch" the straps on the opposite side, but as long as I don't use the triangular file I don't hit them too hard. Did not seem like it would work on the 325, but I'm going to give it another go.

I have done a picco with a square file ,it's all i had at the time ,and it worked .

I do .325 on a Simington.

I don't like round filing anymore. Just doesn't seem right. That's why I like 3/8". I've filed everything from picco to 1/2" square

My local tree guy has one of them, but he has never done square. Do you need a different grinding wheel for square?

I have no issues with the 3 corner on .325.
