I like the elastostart handles better … they are large and the rope gives a little stretch cushion.

It also may have been a bit flooded and hydro locked.

It will evaporate away.

Thanks for all input Guys. I got it started today and I have a new theory: I'm going to be 80 years of age in another month and between it picking up a little more comp & me being tired from the afternoons work, I just couldn't pull it over. I'll put a D handle on SOB!
Squirt some mix in the carb might help along with the handle.

Thanks, Scott, good to hear from ya, I may do that.
I put a D handle on it today and it works, but it is so ugly & flops around.
A friend of mine installed a D handle on my 281, he put a small bolt in the rope hole to maintain space for the starter rope, and melted and pressed it into the area the original handle would go. Worked nicely.
