I love the parts with water, like gerbils ! When working in the mountains kids were always telling me to drink more water, ah coffee is a liquid. Id stop and drink from a spring and they'd freak out because it wasnt from a bottle.
A few jobs we'd have a surly old bastard who was still drunk from the night before and they'd have a little pow wow about what to do about it , when they asked me about it ,I'd tell them I perfer the SOB drunk and maybe we should start buying him more beer ,because he's as mean as cat piss with out it. Apparently not the answer?

This is honestly what I picture people over 35-40 look like when they do anything. At all the jobs I've ever had you will always catch the older crowd standing around jaw jacking, wasting time, and doing nothing. This goes for the military and civilian life. The local logging company complains that they can't get any young people to work for them, but there aren't any young people here, median age is over 40, so really it's just the Xers and Boomers that don't want to work. The young people left to find good jobs.

No, enabling junkies is not the right thing to do. Your employer should have found the man some help. Alcoholics are terrible employees.

There are no Mountains without valleys, the "Normal people" often buckle under a stressful crisis where as an alcoholic lives with that every morning of their lives and usually perform well in those situations and do poorly at the menial jobs.
So...
paper work = bad
Fubar= good
Just a heads up.
