Went and spent money again this weekend. Thewife is going to kill me.
A Grandberg small log folled me home. Now I have to buy a ripping chain and figure out what saw to use it on. The 288 awems like a good choice, but the 394 may get jealous.

Nah... You don't want to lie to your wife..... Stash them out of sight for a while, then when she sees them when you use them just let her know you've had those old things for a while. :)

Eventually when you are up to your hip pockets in chainsaws you might see the light .If it isn't rare, cheap or have the potential to go fast I let it go .< preferabley at least two of the three previous .

Good advice...that requires extreme discipline.

Only ones I buy now are ones that I can flip and make a $$ or keep if I really like it and I'll (sometimes) buy an older saw that has seen hardly any use , is priced cheap and it's a model I like as a collector . I don't keep too many saws for myself that I cut with , maybe 3-4 and they are new / nearly new saws that I bought from money made fixing and selling old ones so they are the fruit of my labor . I'll add that Stihl sells easy , Husky much harder to get a decent price , anything else forgetaboutit !

I have to laugh at some of the prices people ask for saws on kijiji and the like most of the time . An 025 beat to death for $350.....jump right on that one !!! , some of the older saws too , they over think the value .

Around here the 460/046 and 660/066 sell for about the same price.

I'm in CAD remission right now. Not buying anything. Once my life stabilizes a bit after I become "job free" I hope to build up and sell some saws. I have a long honeydo list to address as well.
At this point I'm still sorting through files and shredding bushels of documents. That gives me some satisfaction, lol.

Buy saws that look similar, do the same thing with rifles too-black synthetic stock and stainless and she will never know how many you actually have.

I don't have to worry about the guns. She has a hard time opening the safe.

I was at the scrap yard today getting rid of a large dump trailer load of scrap steel and didn't even ask them if they had any saws... Pretty good, eh? Came home with my $43.80 cash. Wasn't worth the drive but I needed to get rid of it. (.03 per pound today.)
