Husqvarna Valve Check (duckbill)

I have a Husky Chainsaw and twice found it to be leaking gas. Both times the duckbill and bronze plug had fallen out. Is there a reason this happens? The bronze plug appears to fit tightly.

I don't know why they fall out, I put a little loctite on the last one that fell out on my saw.
Cleaned it with rubbing alcohol and put loctite on it before reinstalling it.

It has come out on my 262 but the saw has been around a long time so I can't complain about it.

Kevin, thank you for the replies. I will try the loctite approach. I too cannot complain, the saw is stored in a very humid cellar, is old, and is used very sporadically. It always starts/runs, but on a rare occasion leaks gas when the plug/duckbill falls out. I have an old 141. Happy Holidays!

Use something that isn't affected by gasoline. I use Loctite 518.
