Any reason you picked a 565 over a 572 to mod?
Im not sure what the difference are other than more restrictive transfere caps?

Cost. This was a good bit less than the 572s.

I'll have to check the transfer caps on the 565 sometime, see if they are smaller than the 572.

What carb are you using? I thought the 565 was not electronic/autotune. Maybe it needs more intake duration due to the smaller carb, or more exhaust duration if the cylinder isn't giving you full width for the exhaust. Has the size of the transfer tubes been limited by the sleeve?

Stock 565 carb. Same autotune type as the 572.

Only thing restricting these tunnels would be the 1.5mm less bore area at the sleeve wall.

Exhaust is close to 70% intake at 161* I'm thinking this may really come to once the rings fully seat.

Also the 565 has a very different power curve than the 572, I can't imagine it is all from the stuffers. Almost think the curve is different in the 572 coil/carb setup.

Maybe I was wrong, I thought the 565 was pretty much a low top 572 detuned with restricted transfere caps.
The cost I get, its alot of saw for the money.

So..... I have to be the one to ask it..... Any thoughts on trying to modify a big bore cyl and eliminate the strato all together? Lighter piston by a large amount I'd bet. Would probably speed up transfer velocity quite a bit also.

I'm also wondering if drilling a hole at the botom of the strato cuts on the piston. If it wouldn't work like a boost port from the old polaris snowmobiles. Bring more charge to the top end. I may have to try that on a strato saw myself.

Hell I don't know the first thing about strato stuff. I just like fast.

That is one thing I keep looking at the difference between the 572 and the 565 not much .especially in weight. But I do love the color of that saw .

Stock for stock power is drastically different. 572 is leaps more power stock.

Do 565 and 572 have different coils? I doubt the stuffers make that much difference. I built my 2258 into a 562 minus stuffers and I can’t tell the difference between it and my 2260’s

I want to say they are different, but have not checked the numbers. Even the power curve suggests a different fuel/ignition map than the 572.
