Hello there I am from Arizona just got on the Forum yesterday and I don’t know anyone on here. I just like to cut and work on saws and I am starting to get to many. My wife got mad at me cuz she is tiered of tripping over saws in the garage. I have sold stuff on Facebook but I don’t care for Facebook and the drama that seems to come with it. I found this place and thought it looked a lot better.

Welcome hippiesaw. Happy to have you onboard. We’re a good group of people here.

Having your first post be a saw sale can raise flags for a lot of buyers. My recommendation would be to stick around for a little for everyone to get to know you, and see that you’re here for being a part of the community, rather than just stopping by to try and sell a saw.
Unfortunately that has happened too many times, with mixed results, so we’re just being careful. Nothing personal.

I think you’ll find this site to be quite entertaining and with lots of shared knowledge. After all, we’re all here for the same thing.

These are the same pics user @Jpace posted in another thread. He also posted some 51.4mm pistons I've been discussing. What gives? @Mastermind @SOS Ridgerider

Ain't nothing tight about any of these mfers. Hopefully they can get you sorted out. As has been stated, new users selling a bunch of stuff and changes in user names, postings, and information has been a red flag in the past. When things go bad it's made very public so people are overly cautious.

Tight indeed. If I were you I would just take a pause from trying to sell anything on here and hang out a couple weeks. Tell some jokes, show some pics, read and comment on some old threads, etc. After that, maybe you'll have some luck selling stuff.

There’s a couple of holes in your story here...

You say you got logged out from your old account, and created a new one. @Jpace seems to have been logged in here last night at 10:57pm. Your new account was created yesterday. There’s only on hour or so between 10:57 and midnight.

You also act as if you’re brand new to this forum, but @Jpace has been a member since April 27th 2019.

I believe an explanation is in order. Can someone here vouch for this gentleman?

Howdy
A couple details will help you through the gauntlet of formerly ripped off chainsaw enthusiasts (myself included).

1. Expect to be paid through a method that the buyer can get refunded if you turn out to be a scammer. Typically Paypal Goods and Services.

2. Certain details inspire confidence in the buyer. A picture of the piston through the exhaust port is almost mandatory. Pics of the underside of the saw also tell a lot. Full disclosure of any issues such as missing bolts, stripped threads, chipped cases, missing fins, aftermarket parts helps a lot as well.

3. For expensive saws, a video of the saw cutting is often included. Beware that inbedding YouTube Videos can get you You Tube account cancelled (ridiculous), so it’s safer now to contain a link in you sale post.

4. Be patient. These guys have high standards and most all have been burned by bad sellers. They’re looking out for themselves and new members such as yourself. It can feel a bit like a cool kids club but most everyone has the best intentions.

And definitely dig around in the site. It’s amazing how mich knowledge is contained here and you’ll meet some truly rare folks.

Welcome and Good Luck With Your Sale!
